From vision to image. to stage. to story.

A life in writing, direction, performance, cultural design and contemporary collage art — shaped through curiosity, discipline and deep story.

A life in story, image and emotional truth.

Iris Jacobs is a screenwriter, director, (voice) actor, artist and cultural designer whose work moves across film, theatre, performance and visual art. Her practice centres on immersive, author-led storytelling with a strong devotion to emotional truth, presence and human connection.

She collaborates closely with actors, dancers and ensembles, and is available worldwide for commissions in film, theatre, commercials, art and music videos.

With a background in Cultural and Social Design, Iris began her career in cultural institutions before working internationally as a freelance art director and production designer for film, television, commercials and cultural productions. In 2018, she founded Studio Iris Jacobs as a home for her own work and a platform to support others. That same year, she wrote and directed her debut film Fight Flight Free, which screened at festivals worldwide.

Alongside her directing practice, she developed a long-running collage practice, created stop-motion animations including work for FLOW Magazine, and directed music videos and short films such as Flame Under Water, Falling Rain and Body. She later became Creative Director at Raindance Barcelona and founded Curious Creatives Club, an international platform for artists exploring performance, ensemble work and truth in storytelling.

After the pandemic, Iris completed several short films, including Twin Twisters, which premiered at Ladies in Control Festival, Barcelona, in 2025, as well as A Wicked Women’s Circle, Most Wanted and Conclave Clandestine. The latter earned her the Barcelona Indie Award 2025 for Best Female Director. She also performed in the theatre production Calma Tensa, directed by Majo Cordonet in Madrid, and continues to develop feature films including Everything I Didn’t Tell You, The Apology, SAUNA and The Bad Art Friend Co-Incidence, with SAUNA receiving an honourable mention at Sitges – Woman in Fan.

Iris develops and leads workshops, masterclasses, retreats and story coaching programmes, and has taught internationally at Museu Empordà, Volksuniversiteit Amsterdam, Factor IJ and Soho House Barcelona. In 2026, she aims to bring her first contemporary theatre play to the stage, expand Curious Creatives Club to new locations in collaboration with THE BCN STUDIO, and curate Awaken Your Creative Power at a château in France, with further locations planned.

Her collage work is represented by Saatchi Art, TurningArt, tricera.net and kiekie-art.

Across screen, stage and visual art, her work opens space for emotional depth, creative courage and meaningful human connection.

A creative journey across film, theatre and cultural work.

Writer, director, (voice) actor, cultural designer, artist — a body of work spanning moving image, live performance, visual art, education and international cultural programming.
