Iris Jacobs is a screenwriter, director, (voice) actor, visual artist and cultural designer working across film, theatre and performance. Her work is rooted in character, atmosphere and the tension between what people reveal and what they keep to themselves.

With a background in Cultural and Social Design, she began her career in cultural institutions before working internationally as an art director and production designer for film, television, commercials and cultural productions. In 2018, she founded Studio Iris Jacobs and wrote and directed her debut film, Fight Flight Free.

Her directing practice is actor-centred and collaborative. Close preparation creates room for play, trust and discovery—in rehearsal, on set and across disciplines.
