Iris Jacobs wins Best Female Director at the 2025 Barcelona Indie Awards

We’re proud to share that multidisciplinary artist and filmmaker Iris Jacobs has been awarded the Barcelona Indie Award for her evocative contemporary dance film Conclave Clandestine. Starring Marc Commelas and Anna Soler, the film explores themes of intimacy, instinct, emotional boundaries and the unspoken tension between bodies in motion.

With a cinematic language that blurs the line between choreography and narrative, Jacobs brings her signature collage-like aesthetic to the screen — weaving movement, sound, and space into a visceral, hypnotic experience.

Conclave Clandestine continues to receive international attention, further establishing Jacobs as a boundary-pushing voice in cinema.

TWIN TWISTERS AT YOUR FESTIVAL?

Twin Twisters
Written and Directed by Iris Jacobs

Premiered at the Ladies in Control Festival in Barcelona (2025), Twin Twisters is now traveling the international festival circuit.

A haunting, surreal thriller the film follows Zaza as she navigates the emotional storm of her bond with her twin sister, Mara — set against the backdrop of a fractured wedding day. What begins in intimacy devolves into a hypnotic cycle of control, longing, and betrayal.

With shifting realities and unsettling stillness, Twin Twisters unravels the quiet violence of toxic love between sisters, where warmth mutates into cruelty and devotion becomes a trap.
