From Whisper to Voice: My Journey as a Writer & Director

For years, I carried stories—some shaped by history, others by lived experience, heartbreak, trauma, and the raw beauty of human connection. I was drawn to language, to the rhythm of people’s movements and voices, to culture, music, sound. I’ve always been obsessed with the theatre of life.

The ideas were there. The instinct, the passion—present. But my voice was still a whisper. As Spielberg said, “Your dream doesn’t scream; it whispers.” I had to create space to hear it. Through solitude, hiking, movement, and feeling deeply, I began to listen. And once I did, my voice didn’t just speak—it poured.

I started to meditate, write, and build a creative practice. It took dedication to believe that my vision was worth following. One creative outlet is collage art. I used to resist my nonlinear, multi-project way of working, but I now know it’s how I thrive.

I’ve come to understand that discipline + surrender = flow. Books like  ‘The Artist’s Way’ helped me embrace my unique path. Once I committed to following my heart—doors opened. That became my quiet mantra. CLICHé don’t you think?.

Today, my work—both writing and directing—is rooted in holding space for the full spectrum of the human experience. I don’t judge. I feel deeply. I observe. I aim not to soothe but to stir, spark, and shake something loose. Because transformation lives in discomfort. We are all mirrors of one another.

When I gave voice to my most personal stories, I discovered I could hold space for all stories. They come to me in whispers or in bold waves—like Lynch’s “big fish”—and I try to catch them with care and clarity. The story asks for respect. I am just there to capture it in all it’s fullness.

As a maker, I value truth-telling, humor, play, experiment, communication, true connection and visual research. Whether it’s a screenplay, music video, play, film, a piece of art. I enter the process with honesty, curiosity, and a deep respect for the story’s own shape. I’ve developed a strong filter for what doesn’t belong: ego, cruelty, inauthenticity. I aim to create spaces where people can fully be themselves, without judgment, and discover something new.

My influences range from Bergman to Pina Bausch, Hitchcock to Fellini—but more than anything: the experience of life.

This isn’t a role I play. It’s how I live. And I’m here, fully in it.

If my story resonates with yours, reach out. I’d be honored to help you catch your own big fish—because you deserve to be seen, especially by yourself.
